Possible causes

Sensor is disconnected, damaged, or its resistance reads outside the normal range (open or short circuit)
Indoor unit PCB connector improperly seated or PCB itself defective

Check steps

Verify the sensor is properly connected to the PCB, then measure its resistance and compare to the manufacturer's resistance-vs-temperature chart
If resistance is abnormal, replace the sensor; if connection and sensor are both fine, replace the indoor unit PCB
